Relaxing Patio Retreat, Welcome to our little retreat! Living in the Northwest we grew tired of our open air wood deck that we really only used a few weeks a year. After years of looking at various awning options to cover the old deck we decided no amount of upgrade to the old deck would achieve our patio dreams. It took a couple of years of sweat and tears to complete to our satisfaction but we've created an outdoor living room and kitchen space we enjoy year round. , Patios & Decks Design

Dreamy Deck Oasis, Living in a townhouse has its challenges. With no real back yard to speak of, I yearned for a serene, private space to enjoy the outdoors - but with a limited budget and strict HOA rules, my options were limited.

The solution? A small 8' x10' deck off the second "main" floor of our 3-story home! IKEA and HomeGoods were my best friends for this project; I was able to completely furnish & decorate for about $1k.

- "Applaro" sofa, dropleaf table, outdoor cushions, & "Lenda" curtains (IKEA)
- Gray bentwood chairs (HomeGoods)
- Wire accent plant stands/tables (HomeGoods)
- DIY coffee tables I made from tree slabs and cheap plant stands I spray painted
- Green outdoor throw pillows (Pier 1)
- Patterned outdoor throw pillows (Pottery Barn)
- Outdoor rug (Mad Mats)

Zen Garden, Thanks to Outdoor Space Designer, Scott Johnson, my dreary townhouse courtyard has been transformed into the perfect retreat. He created a tranquil, serene setting that incorporates nature's elements of fire, water and beauty. It has become a great gathering place for family and friends to enjoy each other's company while relaxing and appreciating the peaceful atmosphere. Scott's vision and design far exceeded any expectation that I had for this small space! , Patios & Decks Design
Tiny Yard/Patio: REPOST, Here is my new yard. I've included a picture of the yard when I moved in too. I took out the flagstone built and stained the deck stained the fence and added some plants. I tried to grow grass 3's so shady I ended up putting in artificial grass myself. Let me know what you think and how I can improve. Thanks.

Shortly after this my neighbor made me take down the tree in the corner of my yard. I was heartbroken and didn't even want to go into the back yard, it looked so bare. So to make use of the space we framed out the garden as a elevated deck and added the cabana and lounge bed. We also extended the main deck. Let me know what you think., Patios & Decks Design
Tranquility Found, I added this 500 sq ft stone patio/fire pit as an outdoor entertainment area. The property line and elevation change defined the design to make sure that I didn't have to add railings to meet code. It's on the NE side of the house, so on the long summer days the house provides shade by 6:00pm for an enjoyable evening setting with golf entertainment below., Patios & Decks Design
