I love all of this- from the periwinkle blue that makes those flowers just glow, to the stove repurposed as a potting bench- it is charming and just quirky enough to also have a sense of humor. You struck just the right balance between Victoriana that can get a little too precious and self important and still honoring the period with authentic styling. Bravo!

I totally love the fact that you went for it! As much as I love HGTV and other home improvement resources two phrases have started to make my skin crawl and they are "resale value and neutral colors". People buy homes and decorate them with the next buyer in mind because they are already concerned about resale value. "Lets neutralize every surface honey, because maybe in ten years were going to sell, so lets pick safe colors now". This movement has created cookie cutteritis, so this vivid periwinkle vision is a refreshing sight to see. It's only paint people, Carpe Diem!

I have a purple dollhouse in my periwinkle bedroom., it looks like your real house, lol.

Different style, but color is similar.....your real house is like my great-grandmother's real house. It had those double porches and was little and tall like that down in FL, and she is where I got my love of victorian as she had it all in her home........maybe i can post a pic of her house for you to see. I sleep in between her mother's sewing machine from the 1800's (i should post a pic of a shirt she made on it with the hand tatted lace, you'd love it and her daughter's dressing table and in her bed........i like to be hugged to sleep......that just cracked me up...lol.....it's so true. Ok.......thank you for your posts, we all wish we had you as a neighbor : You could post back to me what you think of the wood sizes i mentioned or do an ''instructional'' post of your complete instructions. thank you, i will paint it lavender in your honor, ok,i was already going to, lol
