replaced cushions and pillows on porch this year and finished planting pots today. So happy the weather is finally nice!!

My wife has wanted a porch swing for several years so I surprised her by building her one this Mother's Day. It is made of redwood and cedar and painted with a chalk paint, then waxed for protection and color depth.
New construction - covered deck/porch. New grey faux wicker patio set with custom ivory canvas cushions.
My home was built in 1899 and we have slowly been making update. The porch was a cement slab. I found inexpensive slate and decided to try my first tiling project. Tiles are placed at a diagonal to reduce the uneven appearance. I seal the porch every six months to keep it weather protected.
Partly a meditation and conversation over tea room, serene place to watch the world go by on the Columbia river in beautiful Oregon!
