Thank you zipzap37 for your comments and suggestions. We have been involved with support groups in the past but it's not the same as him having a friend that he can call on the phone or go to their house to play, if you know what I mean.

I think it does have too much sand. About 8 year ago I hired a contractor to build me a 16' x 20' Club House in my back yard. I paid him $3,000. He formed it up, brought in a load of sand and well, as you can see, there is no club house. I was able to get back $350.00 from him. Over the years contractors have taken me to the cleaners monetarily and I have become somewhat untrusting of contractors. Now and have to try to do things myself. I don't have a lot of time to try to do the work myself, I work 65 hours a week so when the weekend arrives I just want to rest and spend some time with my son. I'm kind of at my wits end and feel a little lost and alone. I'll keep trying, never give up!!!

Read your profile. I have a sister who has learning disabilities, but she's very social. Can you get together with other moms in your area who have kids with developmental disabilities? Then you'd have a support system for yourself and perhaps a venue for finding out about sports for your son. In my upstate NY area we have an e-list and a local group of people who get together for support and issues.

Regarding your lawn, I'd get professional legal assistance regarding your situation. It may have too much sand or clay in the soil. Get a do it yourself soil test kit from hardware store or home center. Bring these pics and ask for help. Correct as needed based on results of test. Talk to neighbors or friends regarding what they've done and for recommendations for a good landscaper. They are out there. You may be able to save money by doing part of it yourself and part by them. See if you can negotiate. Get ideas from the landscaping link on this website. Best wishes.

Well the broken up concrete in front will make great fill for a new porch. Have the old one torn off and chunked up. A new cement block one can be built and filled with the old concrete before pouring new concrete into the block "form." Will take up space so the concrete won't cost so much.
