My Venice Inspired Bedroom, I spent a week at the Gritti Palace in Venice (Italy, not California) and wanted my (much smaller!) bedroom to have that feel. That Venetian room was full of rich fabrics, textured walls and murals. My house was built in 1928, so I already had the textured walls. The rest I did! I'm particularly pleased with the cabinet that is masked by a large mural. My mother had done a painting of water lilies which already was in the room, so I based the mural on that. The other paintings and rug defined the color scheme and there is a subtle, unifying theme of lilies throughout. The duvet is polyester so my dog can lie on the bed without damaging it. (That's the most important thing! It's really the dog's house -- I'm lucky he lets me live there at all.), Bedrooms Design
Glam bedroom, I used metallic wallpaper with a traditional pattern to update my bedroom. The Candice Olson bedding added the perfect amount of glam along with the chandelier!, Bedrooms Design
Side Entrance Deserves Attention, too!, Side entrance leads into a dedicated stairwell for the library. There is a landscaped yard beyond hanging baskets of flowers a river birch tree and a 100 ft. dry creek bed., Home Exterior Design
Arched Bedroom Oasis, In here we used a powder blue on the ceilings accompanied with a soft off white to create a relaxing space. We carried the blue through to the upholstery linens and drapes. We love the look of hardwood but also the softness of carpet so we chose red oak with an area rug. The fireplace mirror and chandelier all came from an antique home and we love the way it complements the traditional architecture of our home. Our home was on the market but we decided to take it off and stay for now., Bedrooms Design
Master Bedroom in need of help!, We recently bought our home but have not been able to decide what to do with our Master BR. We have great architecture in there, with an arched wall inset for the bed to sit against and tray ceilings (which we think would look great as a coffered ceiling but are not sure how to execute that idea). The bedspread on there is blue, but I would like to paint the room something other than blue. (The main living space of our home is already a very soft blue, so I don't want blue-overload). In one side of the room, our TV sits on a stand (we plan to mount it on the wall after painting), but on the other side of the wall we just have an empty space. This room has so much potential but is plain and empty right now., Bedrooms Design
Our romantic retreat, Our master bedroom is all about this huge 10 feet wide window with a beautiful lake view. It is west exposure which means we get to see the sunset everyday. Look what we did!!, Bedrooms Design
