As much as I hated the downstairs bath I needed more time to accrue the funds and do the renovation. But when a pipe burst and did significant damage to the bath and surrounding areas, my plans escalated. Headache that it was, I love the results. I hope you do too.

We remodeld our 80's bathroom with our focal point being the wood framed bathtub we purchased from http://www.bathtubsfactorydirect.com which by the way we got the idea from another Rate My Space post. The wood and marble flooring was purchased at LOWS.
Most work was self performed.

First remodel first house built 1905. Designed around antique vanity from craigslist. 2 mos later we have a remodel of our guest bath/laundry. Contractor built shower base plumber did rough-in. I installed marble/glass tile (craigslist $2 ft) deconstructed vanity added longer legs/towel shelf rebuilt/refinished and finished/installed tin ceiling. Husband painted/installed trim/fixtures. Inspired by early theatres (see play billets on shower curtain) I focused on hot trends c.1900.

Tiny bathroom old house. We tore out walls and added bead board. I painted the floor keeping the design contained in each square. The floor covering was white vinyl. We had it put in when we first bought the house 8 years ago. I came to hate it so paint it!
