I moved to DC three months after graduating from a southern institution of higher learning with little to no prior knowledge of the metropolis itself. While living in a temporary unit, I searched and discovered a perfect home for my roommate (a now 60-pound yellow lab pup named Dubya) and I on Capital Hill. I filled it to the brim with antiques from my nana and late-grandpa’s home in deep-South Georgia and accented with quirky, 21st century accessories. Our new master bedroom. Still have some tweaking and things to add like a rug, mirrors on wall and behind lamps. I also have to upholster the chair. Im most proud of our bed. My husband and I built it. We made many changes including building up the baseboards changing out trim on doors, trimmed out the window and painted. Its coming along. I tried to balance the masculine and feminine in the space. need to find a rug also.. for more detail and tutorials visit my blog @ http://imperfectlyimaginable.blogspot.com/2013/11/restoration-hardware-finish-tutorial.html
