Need help with a victorian foyer!, This is the foyer of a 100 year old brick victorian and I can't for-the-life-of-me choose a way to decorate it! It also opens directly into our living room, which opens directly to our dining room thru 6ft wide doorways., Other Spaces Design

Color Catastrophe in Manhattan's West Village, A small (but sun-splashed!) living room in my West Village apartment. Inspired by a neighborhood cigar bar I decided to paint the walls Farrow & Ball "Book Room Red" thinking it would create a traditional and sophisticated space. Unfortunately the brick/terracotta color looks rather intense to say the least. In addition none of my furniture seems to fit within the room., Living Rooms Design
please help!! need paint ideas for staircase, foyer, hallway, this area begins at foyer/entranceway up staircase, and through a large hallway. it is currently painted yellow on the lower half of what seems like a chair-rail, then is violet on the upper half, up staircase, and through hall. i typically paint my rooms with neutrals like white, antique, creams, beigh's (boring, i know--but i'm not into yellow & purple). the trim all around this space is cherry. (Banister, baseboards etc.) this, i do not want to paint. the problem for me is choosing 2 colors, one for each half of the chair-rail, which will compliment each other without being too boring, but not over the top either., Other Spaces Design
