Long multi functional room... (needs improvement), This living room space is long (23.8' x 14.2') with cathedral ceilings. We use half the room for family time (watching tv, reading books, playing games). The other half of the room is used for the kids play area.
The previous owners created this gigantic fireplace focal area, with a mirror above it. I'm not a fan of mirrors around the house, so I suction cupped our family pictures to the mirror. We haven't used the fireplace in 5 years, so I decided to ignore it while arranging the furniture.
Our dog's beds are hidden behind the couch near the fireplace because there's no other place for them.
After 5+ years living in this house, this is the best furniture arrangement we've been able to come up with. I haven't decided on a wall color and have no idea how expensive it would be to get rid of that giant fireplace mantle. Since we own the house, we can do as we wish. I am at HGTV's mercy, please give me your ideas. Thanks., Living Rooms Design

Coming up roses no more...Helpl!!, This is my L-shaped living room/Dining area. I love this room, but it needs updating. I can sacrifice the rose wallpaper border, paint color, wall art and piano. I'd like to keep most of the furniture and I'm open to adding furniture if my budget permits. Help! , Living Rooms Design
Why demo when you can Decoupage over your old laminate?, My friend's counter top, made of laminate that was supposed to look like a stainless surface, was desperate for a make over. With my Decoupage process, I created a granite look that updated her kitchen in two days! No demo required, and because of the sink configuration, I didn't even have to lift it out like I do in some installations. Wouldn't it be nice if the DIY Network featured creative options for you to do yourself like this one? , Kitchens Design
Spa feel , We had a small 3x7 half bath and wanted to add a tub/shower in our master bedroom. Overall bathroom now is 12 x 7. We wanted to get a relax spa feel. This was our first tile project. A lot of work but worth every sweat!!!! , Bathrooms Design
Bright and Cozy Living Room, We just added new floors and resurfaced the fireplace. We tried to add some color with the new rug and pillows. I want to paint the wall behind the couch and get new cream colored slipcovers for the couch chair and ottoman. I also want to add some brown panels to the existing curtains. Any other ideas??, Living Rooms Design
