Created: 4 hours ago | Flag Remodel of mid 90s master bath to modern spa retreat |
Created: 4 hours ago | Flag This is my 14x14 off-grid cabin. I designed and built the cabin for under $2000 and I live in the cabin full time. the power system is 580 watts solar and 400 watts wind and I use a composting toilet. I garden, raise chickens and rabbits and fish. I am in the process of landscaping the 1 acre plot into garden space, fruit orchard, animal pens, and space for a cash crop. |

The inspiration for this room came from a picture on pottery barns website about a speedboat bed. The price if the bed was ridiculous and I knew I could make one just as nice if not nicer so i set out to create the ultimate nautical boys room. The bed is hand made by me with fully functioning bow lights, lighted compass, water temp gauge, and amperes gauge. 2 walls are upholstered in stained pine 1X2 to create a yacht type feel. Grey laminate floors, all stained pine trim and hand painted door. Closet door handles are old paddles I had in the garage cleaned up and clear coated. Ceiling fan is from Hunter Fans and has actual sail cloth fan blades. The mural on the wall was designed and hand painted by me, it is the area of the St. Lawrence river in which we live. The room took several months to complete but my little man loves it and the smile it brings to his face made it all worth while.... |
Master bath remodel in our 1960's atomic ranch-style house (think Brady Bunch. Just for the grown-ups - we wanted a serene retreat with some pop to it. Had to think outside the box on this one to keep us in budget. |
I've never liked pink that much but when I found out we were having a girl I just felt totally drawn to the very very girly look. I scoured rate my space and took inspiration from several different rooms. I'm so pleased with the totally girly, sweet space.

Total Views: 511 | Flag Thirteen years into my marriage, my bedroom finally made it to the top of my To-do List. I had been tweaking and redesigning what I wanted to do for years. I've always loved coffered ceilings and canopy beds. I came up with this design all on my own and combined the two. I built the platform bed and mounted boards with trim on the wall. I made a "U-shaped" coffered piece for the ceiling that slid in above the wall pieces and attached to blocking on the ceiling with screws. I covered those screws with crown molding. I made the side table out of spindles from my son's old crib. |
Total Views: 381 | Flag This is our living room. I was going for a french country look. I am debaiting on painting with some color, but don't want to loose the open airy feel. Any suggestions? |
