Not functioning...outdoor living space, This space is our back patio area. As you can see we have attempted to start turning this into an outdoor living area, for additional living space, but have run out of ideas. , Patios & Decks Design
Southern Courtyard, My husband and I designed and built this New Orleans-style courtyard over about 9 years (we're still working on it): Hardscapes include statuary, sun-dial, brick pathways, a raised fish pond, fountain, lattice arbor. Plantings include formosa azaleas, roses, jasmine, gardenia, hydrangea, wild strawberry, and a chaste tree., Gardens Design
Porch escape, One reason we love to go to Fla. in fall is that you spend more time outside and on the Fla. porch. My craft rooms are in the basement with no windows. I so needed some outside time. We decided to turn our old deck into a covered screened porch. Oh my gosh it's like a piece of paradise in the back of our house and in the summer, we are completely enclosed by greenery. It's our little piece of heaven and I'm no longer in the basement as much. Of course it wasn't finished til summer was almost over but look out spring, here I come. A great place to daydream with magazines or just watch the birds. Our builder worked alone most of the time. So impressive., Porches Design
beware of the hill, I have a nice size backyard with a very steep hill (Very Steep). I call the back yard the forbidden zone. I would love for my two year old to be able to play in the yard. , Yards Design
Simple & Light, I'm only a student and I want to create and outdoor room in which I could enjoy and relax in. I had only a budget of $350 and I think I made it work with what little money I was able to spend! Let me know what you guys think or what I could have done differently. I'm a complete amateur at this stuff! I basically got almost everything at Ikea. I knew I wanted a white and clean space but with low maintenance. I didn't have a lot of money to spend on schrubbery or potted flowers. Plus, had I put more plants or flowers it would have over-complicated the space that would have conflicted with the simple furniture. I put curtains up to sort of make this outdoor patio seem like an indoor room when need be. Especially since the patio is in a condo building, it provides privacy! , Porches Design
