My husband and I took down the wall between our kitchen and dining room to create a more open flow from one room to the next. We added columns because I wanted a half wall so we could build a banquette on the kitchen side. We painted our contractor oak cabinets, stained the oak parquette flooring, painted the walls, painted the island, added new hardware, built the banquette, and added hand painted faux rugs. The counters are not granite...I painted those many years ago before kits became available. I just purchased little samples of paint and sponged it on and added an epoxy.

It's a tiny dining space in a small townhouse so I didn't want too many bold colors. I used neutrals for the paint (Martha Stewart Gray Squirrel and Whetland Gray) and silver accents (oversized chess pieces and rainfall chandelier). A large abstract painting ties in all of the colors of the dining room and the rest of the house.

Our new master bedroom. Still have some tweaking and things to add like a rug, mirrors on wall and behind lamps. I also have to upholster the chair. Im most proud of our bed. My husband and I built it. We made many changes including building up the baseboards changing out trim on doors, trimmed out the window and painted. Its coming along. I tried to balance the masculine and feminine in the space. need to find a rug also.. for more detail and tutorials visit my blog @ http://imperfectlyimaginable.blogspot.com/2013/11/restoration-hardware-finish-tutorial.html

We had an unfinished basement in our house that we wanted to finish to have some extra family space. I did the design work myself and the project took about 6 months. The space includes a main area for entertaining, a dedicated home theater and a couple of unfinished storage/utility areas. If you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask. Thanks!
