The Jack Vettrianto prints in the room inspired my elegant design. I used black and white then added a deep red in the lamps to tie in the JV prints. My mom made all the black and white pillows the curtain tie backs and the throw at the end of the bed. We found all the furniture at a goodwill type store and painted it black to give it new life. My husband and I wanted to make the dining room somewhat formal but comfortable and cozy. We included some accessories that I acquired while living in Japan for a year. Black and white with a touch of gold is classic.

We recently moved from a 3 bedroom house to a 3 room apartment! I decided if I had to downsize I was going to make this place look like a little doll house. I removed carpet and to my surprise I found beautiful dark hard wood floors. We used an old waterfall bedroom suite and the vanity became my desk. I tried to keep in a "toille"/French country theme. Did I succeed?
