Mudroom - Goodbye Closet...hello Organization!, Our mudroom was not well utilized because it wasn't fully functional. It had a large closet which was stuffed with coats, shoes, backpacks, and lots of other stuff. The room has a service door that goes out to the front of the house...its really useless, but we couldn't remove it - the front of the house is partial stonework..so that was too much of an investment. So...we had to make do with what we had. We wanted hooks (much easier for kids) and cubbies for their stuff along with somewhere to put shoes. Now the room is much more functional. I am so happy!!, Other Spaces Design
It's a Jungle in Here - Playroom, This was originally an attic space above my husband's office -complete with air conditioning ductwork. after our daughter was born we thought about converting this space into a playroom. my husband thought we could have the ductwork covered to look like tree trunks and that is how we came up with the jungle theme. trees were made with a vertical application concrete and then scored and painted., Nurseries Design
God bless the broken road... that led me straight to you (UPDATE), I recently walked down the aisle to Rascal Flatt’s “God Bless the Broken Road”. As my husband and I found each other “relatively” later in life the song could not have been more appropriate. No one recognized the song as it was played by an organist violinist and trumpet player and didn’t sound like a country western song at all!, Bedrooms Design
Cozy Guest Room for Nieces, Day bed with a pop up becomes 2 twins. I cut a hideous king comforter in half and slipped it into a duvet made from the good parts of stained and moth eaten sheets gotten free at the same yard sale where I bought the headboards for $5.

Table, from the living room has a very scratched up top so I pulled the cloth out of the picnic box. Added a family heirloom lamp and a few necessities.

We splurged for 2 Pier One wicker trunks for $30 each, one at the foot of each bed. Seating, spare linens, a place for the suitcase.

Room is 10x11 but the nieces said it lived large. They are grown now and room and since been reinvented.
