This is our Master Bedroom Makeover. From mission-style furniture to heirloom quality mismatched pieces I hope to pass down to my children. This room was put together with many antique finds from antique stores, auctions, craigslist ads and yard sale finds! I love the look and feel of a Victorian bed and breakfast style hotel and wanted to bring that to atleast one room in our home: The Master Suite!
We recently bought this home on the bayou. We have been busy working inside and outside but the front of the house needs help! Any suggestions are welcome.

My personal style is definitely eclectic and I think that this space is the perfect example of that. I love meshing different styles and tying them together. This house is in Chicago, but despite it's urban setting has elements of French country and a rural farmhouse.
The cabinets are an antique beige. The outside wall to the back yard is painted in chalkboard paint. The curtains are actually made of burlap coffee sacks with the text still on them. The counters are granite. The backsplash is subway tile, and behind the stove top it's made to look like antique tin ceiling tiles.

We had an old building on our last 3 acres of property and so it became neglected. The wood floor was rotten, birds nest were everywhere inside it, mice droppings etc.... it was just a mess. I had the idea to hire someone to move it up by our swimming pool and turn it into a pool house. So.....the concrete pad was poured, movers came, the electrician came and I got to paint ;)
